Interest Areas

Aircraft and wind turbine icing

Theory of ice surface growth and roughness formation for glaze icing conditions. Heat transfer effects. Modeling of surface water runback on rough ice surfaces. Integration of modeling with aircraft icing simulation codes.

Aerodynamic flow control

Flow control using passive and active, low and high frequency surface actuation. Control of flow separation. Computational fluid dynamic and boundary modeling of static and dynamic surface roughness.

Flow past unsteady surface actuators.
