Professor Ping Lu selected to receive the 2008 Mechanics and Control of Flight Award

Professor Ping Lu has been selected by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) to receive the 2008 Mechanics and Control of Flight Award. The award is highly prestigious,  presented for an outstanding technical or scientific contribution by an individual in the mechanics, guidance, or control of flight in space or the atmosphere. Prof. Lu’s award citation will read “for contributions in advanced guidance algorithms for entry and ascent flight.” Prof. Lu will receive the award on August 19, 2008, at the AIAA Guidance, Navigation, and Control Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii.”
