Professor Bong Wie and Aerospace graduate students, Brian Kaplinger, and Sam Wagner are attending the 60th International Astronautical Congress to be held in Daejeon, Korea, October 12 - 16, 2009.
The 60th IAC will provide an international focus of the latest ideas, current activities, and future ambitions across a diverse range of space-related topics. The theme for the 2009 Congress will be "Space for Sustainable Peace and Progress." Approximately 3,000 participants are expected to attend.
Wie, Kaplinger, and Wagner are all part of ISU's Asteroid Deflection Research Center, which is located in the Aerospace Engineering department at Iowa State University. Professor Bong Wie is a faculty member in the Aerospace Engineering department, Director of ISU's Asteroid Deflection Research Center, and also Director of the Spacecraft Systems and Controls Laboratory (SSCL). Bong Wie will be presenting the John V. Breakwell Memorial lecture for Astrodynamics Symposium at this conference.
