Costas Soukoulis wins Descartes Prize

 

Costas Soukoulis, working with colleagues in Karlsruhe, Germany, designed a sliver based mesh-like material that marks the latest advance in the rapidly evolving field of metamaterials, materials that could lead to a wide range of new applications as varied as ultrahigh-resolution imaging systems and cloaking devices.  Read the complete article which was published in Science/AAAS, January 5, 2007, Volume 315, 5808, pp. 47-49.

Costas Soukoulis is a Distinguished Professor of Physics and Astronomy and has a courtesy appointment in the Department of Aerospace Engineering.
