Professor Bruce Thompson receives Awards

 

Bruce Thompson is the Director of the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation, Director of the Ames Laboratory Applied NDE Program, a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and a Professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering.

 

Bruce Thompson received the following awards:

 

• Tutorial Citation Award, American Society for Nondestructive Testing, 2006
• Roy Sharpe Prize, British Institute for Nondestructive Testing, 2006
• President’s Honour Lecture, British Institute for Nondestructive Testing, 2006
• Distinguished Fellow Award, Iowa Academy of Science, 2006

On leadership, Bruce served as the Chair of the Executive Committee of the I/UCRC Association, a voluntary association of directors of the NSF’s Industry/University Cooperative Research Centers, formed to award the annual Alexander Schwarzkopf Award for Technological Innovation and provide other support to NSF’s I/UCRC program.
