Research
Wind engineering and structural dynamics applications to wind engineering.
Under these two general areas of interest, Dr. Sarkar's research spans the following topics: wind-tunnel testing and full-scale testing of civil engineering structures; aerodynamics/aeroelasticity of buildings and flexible bridges and structures; basic fluid-structure interaction problems; laboratory simulation of unconventional wind - tornado, microburst, and gust front for load assessment; computational fluid dyanics (CFD) applications; system identification applications; multimedia course development; and computer-aided structural analysis.
