Ph.D. position in CFD-based design optimization

The iDesign lab (http://idesign-lab.github.io) in the Aerospace Engineering Department has one Ph.D. position, available immediately. The student will work with faculty and other students from the iDesign la.perform high-fidelity multidisciplinary design optimization for urban air mobility vehicles. They will also be able to attend conferences and workshops, present research results, and communicate with peers in academia and industry. Ph.D. position in modeling of the interaction between phase transformations and plasticity

Ph.D. position(s) is available immediately in the Engineering Mechanics program in Aerospace Engineering Department at Iowa State University to perform theoretical and computational part of work on NSF-funded projects on the interaction between phase transformations and plasticity. Phase-field, micromechanical, and macroscale simulations using FEM are of interest, in close collaboration with high-pressure experiments performed in our lab.
