Home of the nation’s first moving tornado simulator, researchers in the Iowa State University Aerospace Engineering department study the effects of tornados on buildings and other structures. With tornados causing more than $1 billion in damages an over 80 deaths per year in the United States, it is important to understand the way that buildings fail in tornado winds so that we can reinforce them better.
