AERE461 Modern Design Methodology with Aerospace Applications

Welcome to the AerE 461 course homepage for sections taught by Professor Wei. This course offers senior-level undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in a design experience focusing upon an aircraft system.

Students will work in teams to learn and apply modern engineering design methodology and computational constrained optimal design approach including selection of objective function, characterization of constraint system, materials and strength considerations, and sensitivity analyses.

Blackboard

Blackboard is used for the distribution and collection of lecture notes, homework/project assignments, homework solutions, etc. Students must register for AERE461 to access this information at Blackboard.

Lecture times and location

  • Lectures for all students are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:10pm-2:00pm in Howe Hall, Room 0010.

  • Labs are on Thursdays, 11:00am-12:30pm in Howe Hall, Room 2228.

  • The 2016 Fall semester is from 08/22/2016 to 12/16/2016.
