Reference: MDO Test Suite (1996 – 2007)
Description: The problem involves experiments using two artificial dipoles in a circular disk containing electrolyte to determine the resultant dipole moment of the human heart. Potentials from electrodes around the boundary of the disk are measured and the Gabor-nelson equations are used to solve for the magnitude, directions and locations of the two independent dipoles in the disks. These two dipoles are considered to be two subsystems and thus we can convert the problem into an MDO optimization problem.
